Abstract:Although serum creatinine and/or serum cystatin C have been widely used in clinical practice to estimate glomerular filtration rate (GFR), they cannot replace nuclide labeled GFR measurement when measuring independent renal function and reflecting the true level of GFR. Nuclide labeled GFR methods include nuclide renal dynamic imaging method and nuclide plasma clearance method. These two methods have their own advantages and disadvantages, thus, we expect to objectively and comprehensively introduce their characteristics for rational use by clinicians.
